Welcome to London-HQ. Your guide to London, England.

London is arguably the most vibrant and exciting cosmopolitan city in Europe, if not the world. London has really come alive in recent years.
The decision to allow free entry to the major museums and galleries has certainly helped to encourage visitors to spend time in the great capital city. Although London has a population of only 7 million people, each year a staggering 26 million tourists spent a vacation there.
Out of the top 10 most visited museums and galleries in the world four are in London. Most popular of those is the British Museum which had nearly 6 million visitors in 2008. Close behind comes the Tate Modern on the south bank of the Thames. The other two world beating attractions are the national Gallery and the Natural History museum. Entry to all four is free.
London itself is really a giant museum. Since Julius Caesar invaded Britain in 55 BC and established Roman London or Londinium, London has played a major role in the worlds of business, culture and the arts. Where-ever you travel in London you will find grand buildings and curious monuments chronicling the old city’s past exploits. For those interested in historic London architecture the best advice I have ever been given is to “look up.” At ground level shop fronts may have been modernized but look up to the upper floors and you will be amazed at how many original features remain.
London is not just about the past though. In this modern metropolis you will discover restaurants serving world class cuisine, a sophisticated café society, a fertile setting for innovation and the arts and an endless choice of stores for shopaholics.
